Your third capstone

The first two capstones each lived in one file. This one adds lessons 12 through 14 — buffers, windows and the pickers — and hands you the job they are for: a change that spans two files, where part of what you need is somewhere else.

The rules are the ones you know. Nothing here names a key. If you get stuck, the lesson to look back at is named instead, and the course map (Ctrl+K or ⌘K) takes you there and back. Any sequence of commands that produces the target text earns the tick, and there are always at least two good ones — usually a split route and a buffer-switching route, and either picker works in place of a typed filename.

One thing is new: the editor judges only the file it is showing, so the brief will tell you which file to finish in. Make sure that file is the one on screen when you are done.

The editor is showing the checklist you’ll finish on the next step, already complete. Read it once, then move on. On the next step it comes back with two of its items missing, left behind in a second file.
